Yone Noguchi: The Stream of Fate Volume Two The Eastern Sea

Yone Noguchi: The Stream of Fate is the first full-length biography of the pioneering international Japanese poet Yone Noguchi (1875-1947). Volume Two, The Eastern Sea covers the central years of his career from his 1904 return to Japan at the time of the Russo-Japanese War to his triumphant American lecture tour of 1919-20: years of personal drama and international influence, marked by his entanglements at home, his pivotal role in cross-cultural modernism, and his growing stature as a spokesman for Japan on the world stage. The volume includes 110 illustrations and draws on a comprehensive range of Japanese and English sources.
