Matching hard back bindings in publisher's original burgundy cloth covers, gilt lettering and very elaborate gilt designs to the spines and the upper panels, lower panels duplicated with blind tooling, all page edges gilt. Folio 12'' x 10''. Colour maps, many steel engravings and monochrome illustrations throughout. Spines uniformly slightly sun faded, while the covers are secure to the text, the paper gutters are torn to volumes III and IV, small bumps to the corners, slight foxing to the plates and a Very Good clean set.
