Item description from seller

A bright example of a piracy of this very scarce political poem, widely believed to be the work of William Plaxton. A very scarce work in all editions.A poem by William Plaxton, presented as a letter from Henry Singleton to Tom Pullen, describing the Parliamentary elections of 1708 in Yorkshire. The poem begins with the line 'Fret not, dear Tom, that thou ha'st lost the race'.ESTC. T052873. Foxon identifies this as a piracy. With a final advertisement page for H. Hills.A lovely example of this work. Unbound, as issued. Internally, firmly bound. Leaves only a touch age toned, but exceptionally clean. Very Good.
