A Young Girl Reading Notebook (Paperback)

Paperback. Genre paintings, or scenes from everyday life, were enormously popular in 18th-century France. The image graces the cover of this 64-page blank notebook, a portable companion that will easily fit into a pocket or handbag. A favourite of both Louis XV and Louis XVI, Jean-Honore Fragonard (17321806) was among the 18th century's most prolific painters. His witty, airy style was ideally suited to the Rococo era, and his work is easily identified by its frivolous subject matter and deft brushwork. Recapturing the aristocratic style of 1870s France while offering a timeless meditation on beauty and the act of reading, Fragonard's painting graces the cover of this 64-page blank notebook.
