'Youth at the Helm - a Farcical Comedy in Three Acts' was originally premiered in Hungarian in Budapest in 1933, the work of 'Paul Vulpius' (joint pen-name of Ladislas Fodor and Laszlo Lakatos), then performed in German in Vienna, also in 1933. It was first performed in English in 1934 and produced at the Globe Theatre, London, in 1935 with a cast including Kay Hammond and Alastair Sim. The 1936 film 'Jack of All Trades' starring Jack Hulbert was based on the play. This edition (68pp, illustrated with 2 stage set plans) is No. 890 of French's Acting Editions series, for amateur performances with stage and scenery directions. Softback cover worn and dog-eared, torn on spine. Text fair with numerous pencilled stage directions.
