Gul Irepoglu, 1984 yilinda baslayarak uc yil sureyle sanatcinin atolye- evinde surdurdugu calismasini temel alarak, Zeki Faik Izer'in (1905- 1988) yasamoykusune, sanat ustune dusuncelerine, bir ressam olarak gelisimine ayna tutuyor.Izer'in kestirmecilige teslim olmayan tavrini, izini surdugu resimlere hazirlanisini, resim dunyasindaki kivrak, dinamik, cokrenkli ve yeniliklere acik sanatsal tutumunu ele aliyor. Arka planda ise Cumhuriyet Turkiyesi'nin Batililasma surecinde ortaya cikan evrensellik, yerellik gibi degerlerle bir toplum projesinin yansilari aciga cikiyor.
