About the Authors

As a young man, BG Worner packed his suitcase and set off on an adventure of a lifetime. His travels took him to far-reaching places. He considers himself fortunate to have lived and worked on three continents among people of diverse cultures. Decades later, his spirit of adventure is alive and strong. When COVID hit and the world went into lockdown, BG escaped through his imagination. An avid Lego builder, he created a story world bringing to life the Zico series.BG's unique and quirky take on life is captured in his storytelling which is influenced by social consciousness. As an artist and illustrator, Maddie finds inspiration and beauty in urban environments and the cultures that live within them. As an artist and illustrator, the areas where I find inspiration and beauty are in urban environments and the cultures that live within this. With both these areas is the idea of looking a little deeper and getting absorbed into the image. I tend to work in a series when creating personal work, it maybe a series of cityscapes or close up portraits.My process consists of drawing the initial outline and then digitally colouring the image. For colour I start with flat colours, then focus on shading and detail.My artwork comes from a personal place of expression, as a child I grew up with my brother who has autism and drawing was our way of communicating. I believe at the core of what I create is the view to communicate, opening up a conversation and this is the main reasons why I love illustration. I enjoy art that is accessible for everybody and always as a positive way of expressing yourself!
