About Zin: A Novel
Zin is an easy-to-read dramatic novel, but it is, simultaneously, the exciting coming-of-age tale of a young woman at a pivotal time in her life. One part is her story, one part is a love song to Seattle, and one part a discussion of ideas. Essentially, it is a multilayered narrative that captures in bold, lively prose, a future that works for everyone.

Open the pages and read about Zin’s young life. Be witness to her love affairs, travels, parties, and nights out with friends. Join her as she attends a druid ritual, a wiccan dance, a wild trip to Paris, and an Alaskan Native potlatch.

Zin is written as a series of short vignettes that can be read in any order. The novel employs the increasingly popular, nonlinear narrative technique, with stimulating short chapters. Visit Zin’s world from anywhere in the book, and find the breadth of life. Friendship. Motherhood. Love. Loss. Birth. Death. And the joy of life.

Zin is a non-traditional novel
Breaking all the rules of writing, but people will love the easy style. Bold and exciting, the novel punches up normally tedious prose by using phrases and single words as sentences.

Zin is about a socialist world
The backdrop to this exciting story is set in future Seattle, in a world that works for everyone. Billionaires have been replaced by societal benefits such as universal healthcare, low-cost quality housing, and better working conditions. Not a utopia, but an improved economy that benefits most people.

Zin is about Seattle
The book captures the spirit and places of the Emerald City. Easily one of the characters in the book, Seattle shines in its progressive and unique ways. Actions take place in beloved locations.

Zin is about motherhood
The story line about Zin and her mother is the most poignant one in the book. The author describes a close and loving mother-daughter bond that remains in spite of loss. At the end, the reader will understand there is nothing a mother will not do for her child.
