Entire issue, Extra Series, Numbers 62 & 63, March, 1843, 64pp, printed in double columns, without covers, apparently from a bound volume, very light occasional foxing, faded water staining. Between 1840 and 1849, publisher J. Winchester and editor Park Benjamin, a poet and writer in his own right, issued popular books of the day in a cheap, inexpensive format as "extras" to their New World magazine. The titles published were often first American editions as New World reportedly printed through the night after getting copies of books by meeting ships from Europe at the ports of call. Books at the time were not protected by international copyright. The present item appears to have been reprinted from the 2nd Edition, London: John Murray, 1843. Very scarce.
