Ed and his little sister Jane have a happy life on Mudberry Lane until one day their mom and dad come to them with terrible news. They're getting a divorce! Now they're afraid life will never be the same! Zombie Ed is a friendly boy zombie who enjoys learning and has fun doing it. He's also been affected by a fair share of social issues right from today's headlines: bullying, divorce, low self-esteem and dealing with the death of a classmate. These books are fun and educational. They rhyme and teach vicariously through characters like werewolves, zombies, ghosts and vampires.

Mr. Kent continues to infuse his latest Zombie Ed books with current and topical issues that many children face on a daily basis. It is his hope that they can learn and have fun at the same time.

Edward Kent began his "career" as a writer after being unceremoniously laid off by his employer in 2010. With three young kids of his own at the time and being quite "familiar" with the many types of children's books, he sought to create a series of educational stories whose main character is a friendly boy zombie named Ed. As Kent wrote more Zombie Ed books, he began exploring deeper, and more socially relevant issues, such as divorce, self-esteem, death and bullying. The bullying topic was brought about by the tragic suicide of a Buffalo, NY boy, who after much cyber bullying, decided death was his only escape. Kent felt that Zombie Ed was a perfect protagonist, since he wasn't a stereotype, but a fictional character that everyone could relate to. Kent continues to look for current social topics for his Zombie Ed series. After publishing a few of the Zombie Ed books, Kent got an itch to do something a little more advanced. He wanted to stick with zombie characters, but in a more grown up fashion. His first novel, in a planned young adult trilogy, Ed Undead: The Chronicles of a Teenage Zombie, found the protagonist, Ed Kirk, awaking to a new zombie infested world, with the virus slowly taking over his body. He tries to escape his small town after finding his girlfriend, Lisa Jane. They search for help, all the while being hunted by a mysterious figure who wants Ed for his own purposes. The second novel in the series, Ed Undead: Dead Like Me, published in 2014, picks up where the first book left off. Ed and Lisa Jane, are now living day by day, trying to make it to Canada, where there is a promise of hope at the CDC. By now, the virus has taken a stronger hold of Ed's body and the "zombification" process has advanced, spurring Ed to make some hard choices. Kent is currently working on the third and final book, Ed Undead: Journey's End, coming December 2017. What will happen to Ed is anybody's guess? You'll have to read all 3 novels to find out!
