Overall Size including text and borders : 11 1/4 x 7 1/2 ins. CONDITION: Single page Map that also has a cropped map on the back. As Scanned.This 1888 antique map depicts "N.W. AFRICA, MOROCCO ALGERIA & TUNIS" as stated in the title. Created by Geo. F. Cram, an engraver and publisher from Chicago, Illinois, the map covers the northwestern part of Africa, including modern-day Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. It shows the Mediterranean Sea (labeled as "MEDITERRANEAN SEA") to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The map is highly detailed, displaying numerous cities, towns, geographical features, and political boundaries of the time. It uses a scale of miles and indicates longitude lines both from Greenwich and Washington. The coloration distinguishes between different regions or political entities, with Morocco appearing in a lighter shade compared to Algeria and Tunisia. The map extends from Cape Spartel and Tangier in the northwest to the Gulf of Gabes in the east, showcasing the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, and various oases and settlements across the region.
