This fine impression shows the dark post-storm destruction at, probably, a Massachusetts dock. It is signed in graphite lower right "Joseph Margulies". Platemark: 7" x 10 1/4". Printed on a sheet of 12" x 15" heavy wove paper. Joseph Margulies (1896 1984), American painter and printmaker, studied printmaking with Joseph Pennell at the Art Students League of New York. He is particularly known for his New England coast seascapes. His works are in most major art institutions including: the Library of Congress, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Portrait Gallery, Yale University Art Gallery, etc. Condition: Hinging tape at two upper corners, otherwise fine condition.
