Description: Based on an engraving from Jan Meijssens' rare work: 'Portretten van schilders, enz. - Image de divers hommes de esprit sublime qui par leur art et science…', published in Antwerp, 1649. (Images of painters / persons of great spirit who throught their art and science …) Possibly academy drawings, clearly based on the portrait engravings by Meyssens. It was common for art students to study by copying.Artists and Engravers: Anonymous. Condition: Excellent, given age. Manuscript annotations in the three of the corners (not nearly affecting image).
