Dated in the plate (1807)A beautiful hand coloured copper engraving heightened in places with gum arabic. The original colours remain bright and fresh.The life like scaly sheen created by the use of a delicately applied varnish of gum arabic  unfortunately is not captured by the camera but adds greatly to the visual appeal of these fine prints.A wonderful fish print for framing and display.Fine condition save for insignificant age related blemishes. Free of repairs or restoration.Approx. 8" x 4.5"(200mm x 120mm) to the plate-mark, as displayed in the lead image provided, with good margins beyond.Printed on heavy grade wove paper, blank verso.Edward Donovan.
