Antique print, untitled. A soldier preparing to shoot a cannon beside a shepherd resting by his flock. Etching/engraving on hand laid (verge) paper. Description: Artists and Engravers: Made by D. Nee after Ch. Eisen. Francois Denis Nee (French; 1732-1817) was an etcher and engraver. Charles-Dominique-Joseph Eisen (1720-1778) was a French engraver and painter. Initially trained by his father, he soon entered the studio of Le Bas. He became draughtsman to the King and drawing-master to Madame de Pompadour. Francois Denis Nee (French; 1732-1817). Condition: Good, given age. Margins cropped to or over the image edge. Attached to carrier sheet. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling.
