Antique Master Print, untitled. St. Francis of Assisi. This print is directly related to a painting which was in the Capucins Church in Bologna. The wash in thin brown oil-paint bears striking resemblance to the drawings by Faccini. This could therefore be a working proof from his studio. Ref: Bartsch 1 Provenance: With annotation verso mentioning it being bought in 1815. Etching on Laid paper. Made by 'Pietro Faccini' after own design. Pietro Faccini (1560-1602) trained with Carracci and later opened his own school. Fair, given age. No margins, oilstains, with damages and missing parts, browned.
