Original engraving titled "De begraving van Sara" (the burial of Sarah). Two men carry Sarah into her sepulchre, while a group of grieving people surrounds them. (XI Boek, Bl. 247 - Book 11, p. 247) Copperplate engraving/etching on verge type paper. Description: From: "Abraham de Aartsvader in XII boeken", (Rotterdam: Jan Daniel Beman, 1746) by Arnold Hoogvliet (Vlaardingen 1687-1763). Hoogvliet was an edifying poet of the 18th century. The book from which these prints are taken is seen as his magnum opus.Artists and Engravers: Engraved and designed by Jan Punt (Amsterdam 1711-1780). Punt was an actor, artist and engraver. Reinier Vinkeles was one his pupils. Condition: Very good given age, left edge a bit uneven, margins minimally browned. Please study scan carefully.
