Antique print, titled: 'Bessinga.' - Dutch nobility or important family coat of arms. From Abraham Ferwerda's "Adelijk en Aenzienlijk Wapen-Boek van de Zeven Provincien" (Noble and Distinguished family Coat-of-Arms book of the Seven Provinces), Leeuwarden: Gerrit Tresling, 1781. Handcoloured engraving on hand laid paper. Made by an anonymous engraver after 'Abraham Ferwerda (author)'. Abraham Ferwerda (1716-1783) was a Dutch / Frisian author and publisher from Leeuwarden. He started the Leeuwarder Courant, a newspaper, which is still in existance today. Very good, given age. Attached to carrier sheet of contemporary paper. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. The overall size is ca. 7.3 x 12.9 cm. The image size is ca. 5.9 x 7.4 cm.
