Plate X: 'Dirk de V.' Heraldic stature portrait of Dirk V or Diederyk the fifth, Count of Holland in the 12th century. Original copperplate engraving / etching on a verge type hand laid paper. Description: This original old antique print / plate originates from: 'De Graaven van Holland, in Jaardichten beschreeven.', by P. Langendyk, published in Haarlem, The Netherlands by J. Bosch, 1745.Artists and Engravers: Author: Pieter Langendyk (1683-1756): poet, author, etcher, collector and artist from Haarlem. Engraver: Henricus Spilman after Taco Jelgersma. Henricus / Hendrik Spilman (Dutch 1721-1784): Engraver and designer of mostly town and city views. Tako Hajo Helgersma (1702-1795): Dutch painter from Harlingen. Condition: Excellent. General age related toning and occasional light staining. Paper edges ocassionally with tiny tears and more browned, not effecting image. Carefully study scan as this shows the condition well.
