Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Martin Elias Ridinger' after 'Johann Elias Ridinger'. Martin Elias Ridinger (1730-1781) and his brother of Johann Jakob Ridinger (1736-1784) both worked with their father Johann Elias Ridinger. Johann Elias Ridinger (1698-1767) was a German painter, engraver, draughtsman and publisher. He is one of the most famous German engravers of animals, in particular horses, hunting scenes and dogs. He was trained in painting by Resch and Falch, and was taught engraving by Georg Philipp Rugendas. Condition: Excellent, given age. Margin soiled.
