From: the second edition (first 1693) of 'Beschryvinge van Amsterdam.', 1726, one of the best 17th. century descriptions of Amsterdam, based on the works of Dapper and van Domselaar and on materials furnished by the author's father Isaac Commelin. Casparus Commelin had access to the archives of the city and thus considered more reliable than Dapper/Domselaar.Artists and Engravers: Anonymous.Condition: Very good, given age. Original middle fold, as issued. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Pictura Prints offers mostly antique prints, art, maps and books. Since 2004 the owner Peter Cornelissen started Theprintscollector and has been in business as a print and book seller. In 2018 he decided to further develop his personal collection through 'Pictura Prints'. Peter has a background in design and landscape architecture and holds a degree in paper restauration. He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).

We ship worldwide and package our items meticulously. We carry an umbrella insurance policy. Our shipment rates are based on shipments up to 1 kg. For heavier shipments we will contact you with a quote. Currently our surcharge for international shipments over 1 kg is 9,14 euro / kg. In addition POST NL temporarly charges 3,60 euro per kg due to CORONA related logistics. We ship by registered mail through POST NL. Expedited shipping or shipment through another carrier is available on request at a possible surcharge.
