From "Receuil de Planches, pour la Nouvelle Edition du Dictionnaire Raisonne", an accompanying plate volume for a quarto size Diderot / d'Alembert Encyclopedia ed., which was published in Geneva by Pellet. Depiction of different sorts of musical instruments. Engraving on laid paper. Watermark: Grapes Made by 'Robert Benard' after own design. Robert Benard (1734 1777) was mainly known for having supplied a significant amount of plates (at least 1,800) to the Encyclopedie by Diderot & d'Alembert from 1751. Very good, given age. Ample margins, some foxing and central fold as published. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
