Antique print, titled: 'Theodoro Harlemio pictori.' - Portrait of the painter Dieric Bouts. Part of the set "The true effigies of the most eminent painters." published by D. T. Brown in 1694. State: Fourth state of 4 Ref: New Hollstein 224 Dieric Bouts. Engraving on laid paper. Watermark: Seven Provinces Made by 'Cornelis Cort' after an anonymous artist. Cornelis Cort (1533-1578) was a draughtsman and engraver. He was known as Cornelio Flammingo while he was in Italy (from 1565 until his death). He started an art academy in Rome, where Carracci was among his students. Very good, given age. Large margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling.
