Antique print, titled: 'Gustavus Georgius Tezel - Iohannes Christophorus de Imhof - Leonhardus Grundherr - Hieronymus Wilhelmus Ebner …' - Four portraits of Altdorf university curators: Gustavus Georgius Tezel, Johann Christoph von Imhof, Leonhard Grundherr and Hieronymus Wilhelm Ebner. Etching/engraving on hand laid paper. Description: Source unknown, to be determined.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'J.W. Windter' after 'P. Decker'. Johann Wilhelm Winter (1696-1765) was a German engraver and designer. He worked for the courts. He worked in Nurnberg . He is considered to be one of the best 18th c. engravers. Paul Decker (1677-1713) one of the most important exponents of German Baroque, went to Berlin to study under Schluter, then returned to his native Nurnberg to become architect of Salzbach in Bavaria and later of the Bayreuth Court where his influence is clear, for instance, in Ranz's Hermitage built between 1715 and 1718. Condition: Very good, given age. Margins cropped close to the platemark. Some old manuscript annotations in the top and bottom margins.
