Simon de Vries or Simon Wynouts Frisius (ca. 1580-1628) was a Dutch engraver, etcher, draughtsman and calligrapher, born in Harlingen. He spent a few years in Paris but returned to the Netherlands, where he would spend his final days in The Hague. His prints show a very distinct style and mannerist character. Simon de Vries or Simon Frisius (157075, Harlingen 1628/29, The Hague), was a Dutch engraver. He started his career in Paris, and worked in Rouen and Amsterdam before moving to The Hague. Condition: Very good, given age. Attached to carrier sheet. Letterpress text on the rear of the sheet. Two wormholes in the right edge of the image.
