Original crayon style lithographs on a vellin type paper. The different tones are printed from seperate lithographic stones. on paper. Size in cm: The overall size is ca. 26 x 17 cm. The image size is ca. 19 x 14 cm. Size in inch: The overall size is ca. 10.2 x 6.7 inch. The image size is ca. 7.5 x 5.5 inch.Plate: 'Tiberiade du cote du Liban.' (View of the city of Tiberias from the Libanese side, Palestine / Israel.) This attractive original old antique print / plate originates from: 'Terre Sainte ou Le livre d'Or des familles.', by J.A. Luthereau, Bruxelles 1847. This work contains lithographs after the designs of the reknown David Roberts.Artists and Engravers: The designer of the plates in this work is the reknown David Roberts (1796-1864) a Scottish painter. He is especially known for a great series of detailed prints of Egypt and the Near East that he produced during the 1840s from sketches he made during long tours of the region (1838-1840). This work, and his large oil paintings of similar subjects, made him a prominent Orientalist painter. He was elected as a Royal Academician in 1841. We do not know the exact lithographer of these plates.Condition: Excellent. General age related toning and occasional light foxing as visible on image. He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).

We ship worldwide and package our items meticulously. We carry an umbrella insurance policy. Our shipment rates are based on shipments up to 1 kg. For heavier shipments we will contact you with a quote. Currently our surcharge for international shipments over 1 kg is 9,14 euro / kg.
