Bowyer announces himself as having pleasure in 'sending to his subscribers the remaining part of his Illustrated record.' i.e.: An illustrated record of the important events in the annals of Europe during the years 1812, 183, 1814, & 1815. This notice to the subscribers was probably printed by Thomas Bensley. We are located some 20 minutes drive from the M6, Junction 38 and therefore only a 20 mile detour from the main England-Scotland route. Appleby is a town well worth a visit, the coffee pot is always on though refreshment with �a little more authority' can be had if the Crown & Cushion in the town's market square is open!
