Original lithographed poster by EUGENIUSZ STANKIEWICZ. 60,5 X 47 cm, in near fine condition. Eugeniusz Get-Stankiewicz , real name Eugeniusz Józef Stankiewicz , (born March 14 or May 14 1942 in Ashmyany in the Vilnius region, died April 10, 2011 in Wrocław ) - Polish graphic artist and sculptor . Biography He studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (1961 1966) and at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wrocław (1966 1972). In the years 1982 1985 he ran a graphic arts workshop at the State Higher School of Fine Arts, and from 1998 he was an employee of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław . Commemorative plaque in the Satyrykon Avenue of Stars on the main promenade of Legnica (ul. Najwięcej Marii Panny) In the 1960s and 1970s he was associated with student culture, he also worked as the artistic director of the Ossolineum Publishing House . His first individual exhibition took place in 1964, among others. at the STU Theater Gallery in Krakow (1987, 1988, 1989), Leszek Mądzik Art Stage Gallery in Lublin (1990), Kordegarda Gallery ( National Cultural Center ) in Warsaw (1994), Zachęta Gallery in Warsaw (1996). In 1995 he created the so-called Copperplate Printer's House in the former altarists' house next to the church of St. Elżbieta in Wrocław , i.e. the tenement house " Jaś ", where he lived and conducted his artistic activities. He dealt with drawing, workshop and applied graphics, copperplate engraving, medallion painting, posters (including designing posters for "Solidarity" . He often used the motif of a head (called "Head") in his work, with the features of the artist himself. In urban space He left characteristic works in Wrocław, including the Plaque in Honor of Actions on Simple Numbers (in Jatki), the stained glass window in the Garrison Church, the bas-relief "Do it yourself" (in the tenement house "Jaś"), the geometric monument of "Solidarity" at ul. Norwida , he posed for a sculpture of a Negro placed on the "Pod Murzynem" tenement house on Plac Solny (currently the headquarters of the Wrocław branch of " Gazeta Wyborcza "). He was the winner of many awards, including: "Solidarity" cultural award for 1981-1982 (for graphic work, including the work "Do it yourself"), honorary medal of the International Biennale of Contemporary Bookplate (1988), Silesian Cultural Award of the Government of Lower Saxony (1995), Golden Globe (2011 ). Posthumously in 2011, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta . In 2012, the Wrocław City Council granted him honorary citizenship of Wrocław, "Civitate Wratislaviensi Donatus" . He was buried at the Osobowicki Cemetery. Seller Inventory # 23455
