A good sized original copper engraving of glass manufacture in 18th century England. An interesting print accompanied by the related text which gives a full account of the techniques and equipment used to grind and polish the glass. Fine condition other than minor age blemishes. Fold lines as issued. Printed on hand laid paper, blank verso.Approx. 10" x 8" (250mm x 200mm) overall. The Universal Magazine was a popular 18th century illustrated periodical. It was established in 1747 by John Hinton and ran until 1799. The fine copper engraved illustrations and maps are widely collected.
