Add to basketFlyer for a festival held at SF MoMA in July, 1985 in conjunction with the ACM SIGGRAPH 85 Art Show intended to provide an opportunity to explore computer graphics processes in a hands-on environment and to participate in the creation of images at many levels of expertise. A special program involving Ed Tannenbaum, Gene Youngblood, Ed Emshwiller, and Larry Cuba titled Art and the Computer explored the impact of computers on art. Presentations and discussions offer[ed] insight into how artists, confronted by the sophisticated and increasing power of computers to create and manipulate images, have been challenged to balance imagination and creativity with technology. Which of course sounds topical. Artists involved in the workshops include Stephen Beck, Diane Blake, David Bowers, Kit Fitzgerald, Lucia Grossberger, Melissa Harmon, Eleanor Kent, Scott Kim, connie Lawrence, Bet Regardz, Kathleen Tanaka, and Dr. S.O. Teric. Corporate sponsors include Apple Computer, AT&T, Diaquest, Polaroid, McDonnell Douglas Electronics, Sony, Sun Computer, and Tandy. Printed on two sides of an 11 x 17 sheet of paper folded in four. Flyer design by Beth Regardz and Bruce Lee. Minor bumping to extremities and a few annotations in pen alongside artist names, courtesy of the previous owner, computer artist and educator Margot Lovejoy.
