Die Darstellung ist inspiriert von den Illustrationen zur Erstausgabe des Stücks (1785), die von Claude-Nicolas Malapeau nach Jacques-Philippe-Joseph de Saint-Quentin gestochen wurden; die Zitate, die hier Figaro und Bartolo (im Original: Bartholo) in den Mund gelegt werden, lassen sich in dieser Form im Text nicht nachweisen.
