Original Engraving, Printed Area 6 3/4" X 5", Wide Margins, Annotated By The Artist "1St State Febry11, 1922. A Weaker Impression. Slight Dust And Red Staining. Stanley Harrod (1881-1954), Born In Leeds, England, Studied In Buenos Aires, Moved To Canada, Was An Artist And A Very Well Known Canadian Bookplate Designer Who Also Worked In The Media Of Drawing, Printmaking And Photography. With Morely J. Ayearst He Compiled The Bookplates For "A List Of Canadian Bookplates" Edited By Winward Prescott, And His Own Bookplates Were Published In "A Catalogue Of Bookplates Designed By Stanley Harrod", Bookplate Brochure Series, Number One, Published By Alfred Fowler In 1919. His Bookplates Are In Many Institutional Holdings, But His Other Work Is Scarce; This Etching, As Well As Many Others Listed Separately, Are From The Collection Of A Friend , Part Of Which Were Gifted From The Artist In 1926.
