Intaglio Etching and Aquatint and embossing. 63 x 56cm. Signed, titled and dated. One of 250.Sondra Mayer (1933-2021) was an artist and printmaker who broadened her activities to include teaching etching techniques to other artists, appraising art collections for insurance and donations, and writing articles on art for such local publications as Anton Community Newspapers, The Great Neck Record, Sunstorm, Long Island Heritage, and The World and I, a national magazine. She was listed in several editions of Who's Who in American Art, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who in American Women, and her work is illustrated in Intaglio Printmaking Techniques, by Ruth Leaf. Mayer had been associate director of a gallery, top sales executive for Petersburg Press, and a principal in several art ventures. In her later life, she was a private art dealer with a global clientele, marketing high-level museum-quality contemporary and modern American and European art in all media.Provenance: Suzy R. Most foreign shipments by airmail are $17.00 up to 1 pound or $60.00 up to 2.2 kilos by courier. For all other shipments, please inquire.
