Etching made in 1927. Third state of four, and therefore one of 49 impressions. A fine impression printed on laid paper with good margins, with the Dover House stamp on verso. Signed in pencil by the artists in lower right. There are one former owner stamp marks on sheet corner.Plate size 135 x 120 mm (5 5/8 x 4 3/4 inches) Sheet size 175 x 136Reference: Comstock 36. The locality of this subject is in the parish of St. Ippolyts, a few miles from Hitchin, Hertfordshire; the church is dedicated to St. Hippolytus. Its topography however , is poetical; it suggests a meditation, full of the sweetness of nature, upon a well loved place, remembered as in the light of spring…. . Seller Inventory # 6000501
