Two beautiful samples from the important Twinrocker mill of Kathryn and Howard Clark. Established in 1971, Twinrocker has been influential in the revival of handmade paper in America specifically through innovations in papers for lithography printing. The example here prints the engraving fromG. A. Böckler’s Theatrum Machinarum Novum (Nuremberg, 1661), depicting the papermaking process with water-powered hammers. 2 leaves, one 11x8.5" and the other 8.5x5.5" One with engraving printed in blue, signed by Kathryn and Howard along the bottom, and the other a pale green sample signed by Kathryn. Crease down middle to smaller sample, larger with a few natural wrinkles Near fine.
