An original Finnish first-screening poster for Written on the Wind (1956), the Universal Pictures melodrama directed by Douglas Sirk now widely regarded as one of the defining works of Hollywood’s golden age of melodrama. Starring Rock Hudson, Lauren Bacall, Robert Stack (Academy Award nominated), and Dorothy Malone, who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for this performance. Printed by Piirtopaino Oy. Artist-signed in the plate. Standard Finnish A2, approximately 60.5 × 40 cm. Condition: Good. Cinema-used with several faults, folding crease to centre. Dismounting chip to top right corner with a half-inch tear below. Single staple holes at the remaining corners. Half-inch tear and two nicks to the left edge. Two further half-inch tears to the right edge. Half-inch tear at the bottom edge. Faint but clearly visible print-marked date and time just above the cast list at the bottom. Corners creased. Notwithstanding these faults, it remains a very attractive and genuinely scarce poster.…

Terms of sale
All of our stock is guaranteed to be authentic and as described.
We obtain many of our signed books in person where possible. Those otherwise obtained we purchase ourselves with extreme caution - either with provenance or where, in our professional opinion, the material is unquestionably authentic.
Any item can be returned for a refund if found unsatisfactory for any reason, if we are notified within 14 days. The refund will include the original shipping cost but not the cost of returning the item.
Shipping terms
All items are meticulously packaged to ensure that they arrive in the condition described.
Books are shipped as parcels. Parcel mail rates from Finland are based on the size of the parcel as opposed to weight. This means that we can often safely accommodate several items in the same box at no extra cost. For example, up to 4 standard-sized hardcover fiction titles will fit - with padding - into our standard shipping box. You pay the shipping fee for one item only.
The standard parcel rate also includes full tracking, worldwide.
Smaller items such as autographs, postcards or other ephemera can be sent by a less expensive Letter-rate. ** Letter mail from Finland does not include tracking by default**, however and therefore if you require this service, please choose the Expedited option when placing your order for this type of item.
Shipping costs for ** framed prints or paintings** - particularly where glazed - will be higher than advertised as they are normally sent by courier. Please enquire about likely costs before placing an order as there can be variance where the picture is small.
Shipping speeds are an estimate provided by Posti.fi - delays can occur due to customs interference, e.g. but items usually arrive well within estimate.
