Technically speaking, I am a registered dietitian (RD) who specializes in sports nutrition. In reality, I am a listener, translator of science into practical food tips, and a problem-solver when it comes to fueling for sports and eating for life. I am also active with sports, being a bike commuter, runner, gardener, walker, etc.

I counsel sports-active people (from fitness exercisers to competitive athletes) in my private practice in Newton, MA (just outside of Boston) as well as talk to teams and groups. I use these experiences to learn what people want to know about how to eat for sports and life, and then write books, blogs, and monthly articles to help others with similar concerns.

I'm proud that my Sports Nutrition Guidebook has thrived for more than 20 years as one of the best-selling sports nutrition resources. It's even used as a textbook in high school and college nutrition/health classes--and the new 5th edition comes with an Instructor's Guide.

I've refined my knowledge to write sport-specific nutrition guidebooks for new runners, marathoners, cyclists and soccer players.
