David Skidmore

A Ph.D. graduate of Stanford University, I am a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa (USA). I have also taught at Hamilton College, the University of Notre Dame, Rollins College, the Johns Hopkins-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies, the University of Hong Kong and the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China. My research and teaching interests lie in the areas of international political economy, American foreign policy and international relations theory. In additional to six books, my scholarly work has in various academic journals and books, including Political Science Quarterly, Foreign Policy Analysis, International Studies Perspectives and the Chinese Journal of International Politics. I also write for popular publications on current events, including Fortune, U.S. News and World Report, Salon, The Conversation, the Diplomat, Global Times and the Des Moines Register.
