Robert S. Corrington

I am the Henry Anson Buttz Professor of Philosophical Theology in the Graduate Division of Religion at Drew University. I discovered philosophy around age 19 when I read an article by Martin Heidegger, "The Way Back into the Ground of Metaphysics." After that encounter, my life course was set. I devoured his work until the revelation of his Nazi past compelled me to distance myself from his writings. I am more at home in American pragmatism and have written a book on C.S. Peirce. But above all, it is my passion about nature and its metaphysical articulation that lead me to create the perspective of "ecstatic naturalism." Currently, this perspective is being extended and ramified in Korea, where I often lecture. Here, there is a yearly Congress on ecstatic naturalism, with the 9th one to occur in April 2019. Finally, I have written a book about manic-depressive disorder from which I am some family members suffer or had suffered.
