For over twenty five years Michael Sewell has trekked to wild and remote corners of the earth, searching for magical moments of natural light on the land and compelling imagery. He has photographed some of the worlds rarest animals, threatened landscapes and ancient cultures. His work covers an immense geographic range, from the frigid blue icepacks north of the Arctic Circle to red cracked-earth deserts and steamy tropical rainforests in Central and South America. Michael’s work has been published thousands of times in books and magazine including Audubon, Country Living, National Geographic, Natural History, National Wildlife, Outdoor Photographer, Sierra, Smithsonian and many others in the US, Europe and Asia. He has produced several coffee table books with noted authors Kenneth Brower and Galen Rowell. His books and magazine articles bring a message of preservation and love of the natural world. When not in the wilderness he is most at home in California and Japan.
