Let me begin by telling you a little about myself. I have been practicing counseling and psychotherapy in the Silicon Valley for over forty years. I see individuals, couples and families, helping them solve a wide variety of everyday problems. Rather than having a single method which I use with all clients, I try to tailor treatment to meet the needs of each person and each situation.

I also work with business people -- executives, directors, managers -- helping them to solve interpersonal problems in the workplace and increase their skill in managing both up and down.

Many of my clients are employed in the valley's corporations and institutions. So I'm familiar with the problems and stresses of this fast paced, competitive environment. Additionally, years of affiliation with an employee assistance program which serves many of the valley's top companies has given me an appreciation for workplace problems. I have seen how powerfully problems at work can affect the emotional and physical lives of my clients and their families.

For over fourteen years I was also part of a small team which developed a unique method for thinking about and solving the kinds of problems that people bring to therapists and counselors. Called MRI Brief Therapy, it is used by therapists in many countries around the world. Having received international acceptance, books describing the theory and practice of MRI Brief Therapy are now published in over ten languages. Time with this project has given me a unique set of skills for helping people solve their personal and professional problems.
