Pamela Watson

I first hit the road at the tender age of three weeks when my career-Army dad packed up my mom and me and moved us from Indiana to New Jersey; then to New York, Japan, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina and finally Florida. At every new location, my parents always found fun things to do to keep our growing family entertained and educated, so it was a given that when I headed out into the world on my own, I’d start traveling.

After graduating from the University of South Florida with a B.A. in Education, I set off for England where I spent a year teaching English to the English. There I met my life partner, best friend, and traveling companion, Nick, whom I brought back to the states as a souvenir, and we’ve been traveling ever since.

As a freelance writer and editor, my travels have taken me from the Tower of London, to the gold mining towns of the California foothills, to hiking in Waimea Canyon on the island of Kaua`i. My over 400 travel articles and feature stories have appeared in regional and national magazines and newspapers, including Martha Stewart Weddings and Southwest Airlines’ inflight magazine, “Spirit” (recently renamed The Magazine).

These days you can find me on Facebook as well as on the road at ExploringNorthwestFlorida.com and LoveMyrtleBeach.net, where I’m checking out wineries, state parks, historic sites and other fun things to do. It’s a tough assignment, but I figure I’m up to the task. Besides, it allows me to live near the beach and keep a regular watch for dolphins, sea turtles and spectacular sunsets.

Happy Travels,

Pamela
