Garry Barker

Garry Gene Barker was born in 1943 and grew up one of nine children on a Kentucky tobacco farm, graduated from Berea College (Ky.) in 1965 and worked 40 years as an arts administrator in North Carolina and Kentucky. He has published 15 books of fiction, poetry, essay, and history. He is not the Garry Barker who writes about Mac computers or the one who writes about The Clash. This Garry Barker writes about Appalachian Kentucky. He is now retired and lives in Bald Hill, Ky., with his wife Danetta and border collie Atticus Rex.
