Anil Hira

Andy Hira is a Professor of Political Science at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. He was born in Montreal and grew up in the US. His interest is in economic development. His work has gone from scholarly examination of Latin American economic choices to how countries can use technology to improve their competitiveness. His cases include country and regional strategies from around the world. His current research examines climate change. That issue, and previous work related to international security and the global financial crisis of 2008, led him to write his latest book, Three Perspectives on Human Irrationality: The Book of Rules, based on a lifetime of pondering the solutions to self-destructive human behavior.
