James R. Finley

I am now retired after a first career in the U.S. Marine Corps and a second career as a psychotherapist specializing in addictions, trauma, and mood disorders. I worked for much of that second career as a therapist in the New Mexico state prison system, including some time as the clinical supervisor of the state's forensic psychiatric hospital, and as an instructor at the state Corrections Academy. I also worked as a public health program manager in the area of evidence-based youth substance abuse prevention, providing training and technical support to county and tribal health councils.

I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico with my wife Jan, a retired clinical social worker, and our three cats. We are parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.
