Robin Burk

From my early days writing code in Silicon Valley to my experience leading and growing entrepreneurial companies, to teaching undergraduates and leading research teams, I've been surfing the waves of change that enrich and challenge us today.

I grew up in a small blue-collar town and have lived in a wide variety of communities across the U.S. Along the way I wrote early code for the internet, helped entrepreneurs launch and grow companies, wrote some technical books, had the privilege of teaching cadets at the U.S. Military Academy after the attacks of 9/11, and led research in a brand new scientific discipline.

Today my mission via the Check Your Connections initiative is to help people and organizations not only survive disruptive change but also the thrive despite the uncertainty it brings. I do that by translating the insights of network science and other disciplines into practical, empowering steps anyone can use to expand their resources and identify unexpected new opportunities.
