Henry C. Lu

Dr. Henry C. Lu was a renowned scholar, author, and licensed doctor of traditional Chinese medicine (DTCM) in British Columbia, Canada. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. Between 1968 and 1971, he taught at the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary. Dr. Lu practiced Chinese medicine starting in 1972 and dedicated his life to teaching classical medical wisdom to countless students globally via correspondence throughout his career.

His students originate from many countries worldwide, including the United States, Canada, England, Australia, Sweden, Italy, Germany, France, New Zealand, Switzerland, Mexico, and Japan.

Dr. Lu is best known globally for his monumental, definitive English translations of core classical texts, most notably "The Yellow Emperor's Classics of Internal Medicine" (Nei-Jing) and "The Difficult Classic" (Nan-Jing). His book "Chinese Herbs with Common Foods" won the prestigious 5th World Cookbook Fair Award as the "best natural health book" in France in 1998. He also served as the longtime President of the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver and was appointed by the Government of Canada to the Expert Advisory Committee for Natural Health Products in 2003.
