Al Kasha

Al Kasha has won awards and acclaim as a composer, writer and producer in every musical medium -- motion pictures, records, television and theater. Mr. Kasha has had hit records in every decade, from the 1960’s to 2012.

Recently Mr. Kasha was awarded the prestigious Robert A. Briner Impact Award for Lifetime Achievement for Excellence in Media from the Torrey Honors Institute of Biola University.

Mr. Kasha’s beloved live action/animated classic “PETE’S DRAGON”, the Disney Gold Classic Edition, was just re-released August 18, 2009, and is enchanting a whole new generation of the young and young at heart.

Currently, Mr. Kasha is writing a staged theatrical musical with David Foster, a 14 Grammy Award winner, as well as a Broadway musical with Donna Summer, based on her life story, entitled “ORDINARY GIRL.”

As two-time Tony Nominees, Al Kasha and Joel Hirschhorn are now enjoying the triumphant run of their musical, “SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS,” which won a 2005 Connecticut Critics Circle Award for “Outstanding Production of a Musical.” “SEVEN BRIDES” also was recently voted the 3rd most favorite musical in a 2005 BBC poll.

They wrote the international standard, “THE OLD FASHIONED WAY,” with Charles Aznavour, one of the many successful songs they collaborated on with Aznavour. This material will be featured in “THE LIFE OF CHARLES AZNAVOUR,” slated for the West End and produced by Mike Merrick.

Recently Mr. Kasha received the ASCAP COUNTRY AWARD for his top hit, “STREETS OF HEAVEN sung by SHERRIE AUSTIN.

His latest recording by DONNA SUMMER ” I’M A FIRE” has received the #1 Billboard Dance Chart and the #1 on the World Dance Charts.
