Franklyn E. Dailey Jr.

Franklyn E Dailey Jr was born in update New York in 1921 to Franklin and Isabel Dailey of Brockport New York. He attended local schools graduating at the early age of 14, then attending Niagara University prior to entering The Naval Academy. Franklyn graduated with honors from the United States Naval Academy in the class of 1943. During the War years classes were truncated to three years so the actual graduation date was June 19, 1942. He was assigned to the USS Edison and participated in the invasion of North Africa, Sicily, Anzio, Salerno, and Southern France. These campaigns were all part of a strategy leading to the successful invasion of Normandy. He later completed his flight training and flew extensively in the Aleutian Islands where he honed his instrument flying skills. Franklyn married Marguerite Parker of Portsmouth Virginia and has eight children. He continues to take calls from interested readers.
