Jennifer Carter

Author Jennifer co-wrote "Titanic Adventure" with her husband Joel Hirschhorn, a two-time Academy Award winning songwriter/composer/author. Her book recounts the many true-life adventures she experienced during her career as a documentary filmmaker over 25 years with National Geographic, Walt Disney Pictures, WQED, WNET, the Smithsonian and Stephen Low Productions.

Jennifer co-led the French-American Titanic expedition in 1987 that retrieved over 1800 artifacts. She was in charge of the American video crew that produced over 150 hours of spectacular underwater and topside film footage. The special drew over 22 million viewers in the U.S. alone and ranks to this day as the highest-rated Titanic television program of all time.

Her National Geographic credits include The Sharks, Born of Fire and The Great Whales, which won an Emmy for Outstanding informational Special. One of her most prestigious assignments was as one of the producers of Planet Earth, which won an Emmy for Outstanding Informational Series. At Walt Disney Pictures, she was Producer/Head of Acquisitions for the Educational Division. She was an associate producer/field producer for IMAX Films Titanica, Across the Sea of Time and the 3D IMAX Film Mark Twain's America.

Jennifer Carter is the first woman to dive in a submersible to the Titanic, world's deepest shipwreck 2 1/2 miles beneath the sea. She is a member of the Women Divers Hall of Fame (WDHOF) and a Fellow member of The Explorers Club.
